Butterfly Count Data Coming In

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's NABA Rhode Island Butterfly Count! The weather was good overall for butterflying and we seem to have gotten good numbers. Right now data is coming in by mail and email, and we are working to identify mystery butterfly photos to get a complete count. So far one of the most interesting sightings was an American Snout in Bristol and another in Warwick. When all the data is compiled we will post it here.

Although the count is over, you can still report your sightings! Just go to http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/oceanstatebutterflies/ and join the group to share your sightings and photos throughout the year. Experts in the group are always happy to help you ID your photos. Butterfly researcher Harry Pavulaan checks the site frequently to add sightings to his database, and he encourages frequent postings, even of common species.

We look forward to publishing this year's count results and to doing the count again next year!
