2017 Rhode Island Butterfly Count - No Experience Necessary!

Calling all butterfly lovers - It is that time of year again!

Choose an Audubon-led count or lead your own.

Public Counts: Audubon naturalists lead participants into the field to identify and record butterfly sightings.  This event is Audubon's 14th annual survey of butterflies. Bring a snack, water and insect spray.   Be sure to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes!

Private Counts: Are you able to identify most of Rhode Islands butterflies?   People experienced in identifying local butterflies are encouraged to join a "public" count or do their own "private" count and provide the data and photos to Audubon.  Please contact Jon at jscoones@asri.org if you are interested in conducting your own butterfly count.
